What is Corrective Exercise?
The goal of corrective exercise is to strengthen weak muscles and relax the tight muscles. Corrective exercise seeks to correct muscular imbalance and compromised joints while restoring the authentic movement of the body. Poor posture, overuse, and traumatic injuries all lead to muscular and joint dysfunction. These dysfunctions manifests as limited range of motion, muscular ‘knots’, and pain. Without corrective exercise, the overused muscles will be over burdened, while the underused muscles will continually get weaker. By restoring muscular balance, through corrective exercise, your body will naturally move optimally.
